The Seattle Kraken will meet the Vancouver Canucks twice in the 2026-27 pre-season as part of a four-game slate that also includes Calgary and Edmonton.
The Kraken’s pre-season schedule features two games against the Canucks: one on September 19 at Climate Pledge Arena and another on September 26 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver. The shortened slate reflects the league’s move to 84 regular-season games, cutting each team’s exhibition slate from six to four contests.
These matchups give Kraken coaches a close look at young talent pushing for roster spots. Last year, Vancouver’s Braeden Cootes made the team out of camp and debuted on opening night against Calgary. This year, Riley Patterson — a 2025 OHL standout who logged AHL minutes in 2025–26 — figures to draw eyes in camp.
Kraken fans can pencil in the two Canucks games as early chances to scout Vancouver’s pipeline. The club’s 2026 draft class, including Caleb Malhotra, is expected to keep playing in NCAA and CHL circuits through next season, so the exhibition run won’t feature all of Seattle’s top prospects.
The Kraken sit 13th in the Western Conference with a 34-37 record and have lost their last three games heading into their next contest on September 20.
