The Seattle Kraken released their shortened preseason schedule for the 2026-2027 season, featuring four games against the Vancouver Canucks and Calgary Flames.
The Kraken will play their first preseason game at home against the Vancouver Canucks on September 19.
They will then travel to Calgary to face the Flames on September 20.
The NHL has reduced the preseason from six games to accommodate an expanded 84-game regular season.
This change will force teams like the Seattle Kraken to finalize their rosters quickly, according to general manager Jason Botterill.
The Kraken finished the 2025-2026 regular season with a 34-37-11 record, missing the playoffs for the third consecutive year, and currently stand 13th in the Western Conference.
The team will host the Calgary Flames at Climate Pledge Arena on September 24 and close out the preseason with a road game in Vancouver against the Canucks on September 26.
Tickets for the Kraken's two preseason home games will go on sale at a later date.
Jason Botterill noted that the team has to get down to their final roster very quickly this year.
The Kraken are looking to improve on their recent performance, including their current L3 streak.
