Seattle Kraken Sign Alexis Bernier to Entry-Level Contract

Seattle Kraken General Manager Jason Botterill announced today that the team has signed 2024 third-round draft pick Alexis Bernier to a three-year entry-level contract. This deal, which has an average annual value of $1,033,333, will take effect starting next season. Bernier, a 19-year-old defenseman, has made a name for himself in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) after accumulating 106 points over four seasons. He played a pivotal role in leading the Chicoutimi Saguenéens to a QMJHL Championship, contributing significantly during the playoffs. Botterill expressed excitement about Bernier's potential, highlighting his strong, physical style of play and size, which will bolster the Kraken's defense. Bernier's impressive statistics include 12 points in 21 regular-season games and a standout performance in the playoffs, where he recorded four goals and three assists in 20 games. He is set to compete in the Memorial Cup tournament, showcasing his skills against top junior teams. With this signing, the Seattle Kraken continue to build a competitive roster for the upcoming NHL season.
